Fructose intolerance diet tips
1. Fruits are commonly loaded with fructose, consume fruits in moderation and choose only fruits that recommended for those who stick to the diet plan. Dietitians allow people with fructose intolerance to consume fruits such as strawberries, blackberries, lemons, pineapples, raspberries, orange, bananas and avocado. Those of fruit may consume as a part of salad, juice or toppings. Be aware of these restricted fruits: Apples, plums, dates, pears and cherries as it contain high fructose.
2. Although vegetables is not contain fructose as much as fruits, someone who follow fructose intolerance diet should choose which vegetables are good for them. Experts suggest the sufferer to consume cooked green leaf vegetables. Try to control the amount of vegetables consumption, the recommended amount is about half of cup per one serving. Mushroom, celery, spinach, leafy greens, asparagus, pea pods, and cucumber are good to go.
3. Dairy products such eggs, cheese, plain yoghurt and plain milk are safe to consume. Be careful with sweetened dairy product, always read the nutritional fact label to make sure that those foods not contain fructose. Put them back on the rack if contain honey. Honey is definitely rich in fructose so it should not on the foods list.
4. People who follow fructose intolerance diet may consume all types of meat including red meat, poultry, and pork. Beside those of meats, someone with the disorder can also eat fish without any restriction.
